mrgan:

A suggestion for Mac OS X Lion: since the team is trying to integrate the menubar into the desktop a bit more, to make it less prominent - the translucent menubar was an attempt at just this - why not go all the way and make it black? This way, it’ll blend into the bezel of (most) new Macs. Black menus are already all over iLife ’11, and it would be another step toward unifying the look of iOS and Mac OS.
Yes, this change would break many Mac apps if they didn’t update to support it. Apple’s no stranger to that, though.

Interesting suggestion, and I could totally see this happening as monochrome icons seem to be trending. iTunes 10 went gray earlier this year as well.

Now Tumbling

I decided to start a Tumblr page for posting random stuff on this site. I’ve been sitting on danauclair.com for a couple years now without having a blog or any real significant content. I enjoy having the webspace and domain for various projects but I rarely have the desire to do any significant writing or blogging.

I don’t really plan to “blog” here, just post interesting things I find and leave a brief comment or two. Tumblr and Posterous are both platforms aimed at this kind of “tumblogging”, whatever that is supposed to mean, rather than a fully-fledged blog. I have been sporadically doing this type of thing with sharing on Google Reader which was recently linked to Buzz. I figure I will continue to do that but add some of the better things I find or have to say about on here.

I would imagine there will be a developer/technology slant to most things that I post, but really anything goes. It might end up just being funny cat pictures.
